Paul F. Bryan

Dr. Paul F. Bryan is currently a Senior Scientist and Biofuels Program Manager at Sandia National Laboratories (2018-Present). He is a chemical engineer (BS – Penn State / PhD – Berkeley / Post-Doc – ENS Mines – Paris) who has worked for nearly 20 years in industry (Union Carbide, Chevron (1989 – 2010), served as Program Manager for the Biomass Office (now called “BETO”) at the U.S. DOE (2010-12), worked an Independent Consultant in the fields of Renewable and Conventional Fuels and Chemicals, and taught chemical Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines, MIT, UC-Berkeley, and UC-Riverside. His technical specialties include Thermodynamics, Separations Technology, Biomass Conversion, and Process Research, Development & Commercialization. A constant focus of his work has been in Industry / University / Government collaborative R&D, working in all three sectors, and he has managed >$1.5 billion of sponsored I/U/G research.
