Single-cell proteins are a growing class of alternative protein feed ingredients, and offer compelling efficiency gains for animal protein production, benefiting both society and the environment. Arbiom is developing bioprocessing technology to commercially produce SCP-based protein from wood. Using wood as a feedstock differentiates Arbiom’s technology. Wood is an abundant, renewable carbon source that does not directly compete with food or fossil fuel feedstocks. Arbiom’s protein product offers science-backed benefits for improved animal health. It is a nutritional, economical, traceable and sustainable protein source that compares favorably with conventional high-protein ingredients. In the past year Arbiom has completed several promising animal feed trials, and this presentation will share results showing that novel protein produced from wood is superior to conventional protein ingredients in terms of handling, digestibility, nutritional value and gut health
